We believe in taking action with urgency in order to raise public awareness about one of the most pressing issues facing today’s society, which is, poverty. Meet The Team
April Jackson, CEO/Founder
April Jackson, founder of Gracious Helpers Foundation, a community driven non-profit organization that’s dedicated to assisting underserved families, who resides in Saint Louis County and Saint Charles County. April was born and raised in Saint Louis, MO. In 2009, April graduated high school from Parkway North High and immediately started participating in community outreach programs throughout the region.
April was brought up in a Christian household were education was considered the number one priority. April obtained her Bachelor's of Science Health Administration from University of Phoenix. In addition to operating Gracious Helpers Foundation, April is the owner of Custom Cleaners, a commercial janitorial cleaning company, attending nursing school at Chamberlain University, an active participant in multiple community service projects, and provides excellent customer service at the local hospital in her community.
There is a great population of crime, social and economic issues that underserved families are facing everyday in Saint Louis and its surrounding areas; multiple families are being incarcerated or becoming victims of the city’s senseless violence, homelessness and/or being unemployed. With her own personal encounters with life’s unfortunate circumstances, such as being in foster care majority of her childhood. April understands the importance of family, that’s why it’s her desire to take part in one of society biggest challenges, which is poverty, and strive for a change.
After years of dreaming and having a goal of starting a non-profit organization that would benefit her community, by keeping families together, healthy and happy. Gracious Helpers Foundation was founded in January of 2021. In July of 2021, the organization became a fully formed 501(C)(3) with a great support from the community, family, friends and also receiving a St. Louis County Proclamation honoring April 18th as “Gracious Helpers Foundation Day” from St. Louis County Executive Sam Page.

Food Donation/Household Items Drop-Off
With our organization’s mission always in mind, we strive to find new strategies for dealing with these challenges. Food Donation/Clothing/Household Items Drop-Off is something that we take very seriously, and our team is working hard everyday to make a positive impact. If you're having an emergency food crisis, please click the link to fill out the application and a team member will reach out to you within 2 hours to finalize your request. The EFA program is free and open to those who reside in Saint Louis County/City area. Due to food allergies, we no longer will provide prefilled meal boxes. Gift cards (Schnucks/Aldi/Walmart) will be issued. Amounts vary from $30 to $65 dollars,

Saturday, October 25, 2025 @12pm, we’re handing out 500 bags filled with household essentials to the community. Please stay in your vehicle at all times (this is a drive-up event) Only one bag will be distributed per vehicle. First come first serve, this event is free and open to the public.
